SpeakOut Council Speech Contest 2017
The SpeakOut Annual Speech Contest took place on Saturday 23rd September at the Westville North library.

Winner of the Prepared Speech Contest, Dawn McGill of Durban Club, with Council President Mary Laing. Second place went to Jenny Dunn also of Durban Club.
The title of Dawn's speech was "Rejuvenate your Spirit" and she spoke about belly dancing.
The title of Jenny's Speech was "There's a killer in your kitchen" and she spoke about the dangers of sugar and diabetes.

Second place went to Ruth Cohn of Durban Club.
The contestants were given the subject 'language' as they approached the lectern and were asked to speak for 2-3 minutes.

SpeakOut Council Speech Contest 2016
The Annual SpeakOut Council Speech Contest was held on Saturday 17th September at the Glenwood Presbyterian Church. The contestants had been winners at club level. For the Prepared Speech Contest the contestants had to give a 5 - 8 minute 'entertaining speech'.
For the Impromptu Speech Contest the contestants were given their subjects as they went up to the lectern and they had to speak for a minimum of two minutes and a maximum of three minutes.

Durban Club Prepared Speech Contest 2016
Durban Club held their annual Prepared Speech Contest on 3rd September. Six members took part. Contestants had to deliver a 5- 8 minute 'Entertaining' Speech.

Durban Club Impromptu Speech Contest 2016
Durban Club held their annual impromptu speech contest on 6th August 2016. Twelve members took part and had to speak for a minimum of two minutes and a maximum of three minutes on a subject that was given to them seconds before they stood up to speak.
